Barnes & Noble Plans Family Fun for "Turnoff Week" Posted on Sat, April 18th, 2009 Written by: Syracuse Parent, email: editor@syracuseparent.net
Barnes & Noble in Dewitt and Clay will celebrate national “Turnoff Week,” April 20th through April 26th, with activities offering alternatives to television, the Internet, electronic games and other screen related activities.
Turnoff Week is a primary program of the Center for Screen-Time Awareness, an international nonprofit organization that provides tools for people to improve their selves, families, and communities by taking control of the electronic media in their lives and not allowing it to control them.
Among the events being offered at CNY Barnes & Noble stores are family Storytimes, Family Fun nights, game nights, book clubs, bookfair fundraisers, crafts, scavenger hunts, and poetry readings. For more information, call 449-2947 or 622-1066.
